AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the industry leader for cloud architectures in IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) and PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), which can be combined to create a flexible cloud framework without thinking about delays in the provisioning of infrastructure (computing, storage , and network) and management. With AWS, you can select the specific solutions you need and only pay for exactly what you are using, resulting in lower working capital and faster valuation time without compromising customer experience or application monitoring.

Google Cloud Platform

Google offers a suite of cloud - based services running on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for end-user products such as Google Search, Gmail and YouTube. In addition to a set of management tools, Google offers a range of modular cloud services including computing, data storage , data analytics and machine learning services.

Google Cloud Platform offers infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and operating systems that are serverless.

Linux

Linux is a tried-and - tested, open-source operating system, its use has expanded to underpin systems for cars, phones, web servers and, more recently, networking gear. Its longevity, maturity and security make it one of today's most trusted OSes, making it ideal for commercial network devices as well as for companies that want to use it and its peripherals to customize their own network. That in effect makes IT recruiting managers highly sought after the Linux skills. For instance, many of the latest DevOps related technologies, such as containers, infrastructure, and SDN controllers, are built on Linux. Linux is an operating system similar to — though, as we shall see, not descended directly from — Unix. As with most Unix-like OSes, Linux consists of several components.

Microsoft and Windows

Microsoft Windows, usually referred to as Windows, is a group of several proprietary families of graphical operating systems that are all developed and marketed by Microsoft. Each family provides services to a certain computing sector. Families with active Microsoft Windows include Windows NT and Windows IoT; these can include subfamilies, e.g. Windows Server or Windows Embedded Compact (Windows CE). Defunct Microsoft Windows families include Windows 9x, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone.

Digital Ocean

Digital Ocean, Inc. is an American cloud infrastructure provider with worldwide data centers headquartered in New York City. DigitalOcean provides cloud services to developers which help deploy and scale applications running on multiple computers simultaneously. As of January 2018 DigitalOcean was the world's third-largest web-facing hosting service.

DigitalOcean offers services via VPS. You can get what they call a "droplet" which is a virtual server running any number of distributions under Linux. You can also get services such as storage, firewalls, backups and load balancing.

They charge you only for the services that you are using, so if you spin a droplet and delete it, you will only be charged for the time it was active.

Digital Ocean Offers-

  • Virtual Private Servers starting at $5
  • Storage in the form of block storage (attached to a VPS) and “Spaces” which is object storage, similar to AWS S3. You pay per usage.
  • Load balancers at $20 per month
  • Firewalls for your Droplets
  • Private networking
  • Floating Ip’s
  • Automatic backups
